Olympics Spirit.

Filed under: Happenings — happyscribblers @ 1:59 pm

Hello bloggers,

I’m sure everybody is overwhelmed with Olympics vibe. In TV channels, radio, newspaper and almost everywhere.

Yea, so have you all heard the new song from Taylor Swift?

I heard it. It was awesome. It was dedicated for the USA atheletes.

I’m not much of Taylor Swift fan but i’m find this song very encouraging. A song that is great to listen when you had went through hell (opps), a bad day in other words.

So check the lyrics out below.

And it’s a sad picture
The final blow hits you
Somebody else gets
What you wanted again
You know it’s all the same
Another time and place
Repeating history
And you’re getting sick of it

But I believe in whatever you do
And I’ll do anything to see it through
Because these things will change

Can you feel it now?
These walls that they put up
To hold us back
Will fall down
It’s a revolution
The time will come for us to finally win
We’ll sing hallelujah
We’ll sing hallelujah.

So we’ve been outnumbered
Raided and now cornered
It’s hard to fight
When the fight ain’t fair

We’re getting stronger now
From things they never found
They might be bigger
But we’re faster and never scared

You can walk away
Say we don’t need this
But there’s something in your eyes
Says we can beat this
‘Cause these things will change

Can you feel it now?
These walls that they put up
To hold us back
Will fall down
It’s a revolution
The time will come for us to finally win
We’ll sing hallelujah
We’ll sing hallelujah, oh

Tonight we’ll stand and get off our knees
Fight for what we’ve worked for
All these years
The battle was long
It was the fight of our lives
But we’ll stand up, champions tonight
It was the night things changed

Can you see it now?
The walls that they put up
To hold us back
Fell down
It’s a revolution
Throw your hands up
‘Cause we never gave in
We’ll sing hallelujah
We sang hallelujah
Hallelujah.

Michael Phelps

Filed under: Happenings, sports — happyscribblers @ 3:55 pm

Singapore won Silver for Table Tennis.

Yes, im talking about the Olympics.  The only sport that im really interested to watch  when the Olympics season’s on is Swimming.  This year’s olympic has produced a man who has won a total of 8 Gold Medals in a single Olypmpic. That man is Michael Phelps. And he has got almost everyone talking about him, even me and my small sister, Rifa, who is just 6 years old. Below is a recent conversation that i had with my sister while watching Michael received his eighth Gold medal.

Me: Rifa!…That is kakak’s (sister’s) boyfriend!

Rifa: Whch one?

Me: This one —-> . His name is Michael Phelps.

Rifa: How do you know? Is he in your school too?

Me: (Looks at her with a BIG smile and answered) YES! We are classmates…..

LOL… I didnt know my sister was that easy!!! And yeah, now you know how “perasan(what is the english word for this)” i can be. Oh, Congrats to Michael Phelps for winning 8 GOLD medals in a game. A..M.A.Z.I.N.G!
Hmm…do you think he will read this? Hmm..I don’t think so.

High School Musical on Ice

There are no Vanessa Hudgens, Zac Efron, Corbin Bleu and Ashley Tisdale but only professional skaters.Despite this, High School Musical on ice still rocks! Its fun and cooooool! It happened at Singapore Expo and the crowd did not just consist of kids but also teens and adults(like me). The acts were just as almost the same as the movies(part 1 & 2), but the only difference was that it was on ice. All the skaters did an awesome job but only one or 2 of them fell. It wasn’t that bad but hey accidents do happen right.

Oh well, i’ll give it 4.5/5 if the crowd was fun too but i think i’ll settle with 4/5.

The Effects of Global Warming

Filed under: Happenings — happyscribblers @ 4:42 am

When the Earth’s average temperature increases, the sea level is likely to rise. This is because the higher the temperature, the more volume increase in sea water.

This cause when ice caps at the North Poles to melt which contains 70% of the world’s freshwater and if melted,it releases large volumes of water into the seas.Climatic changes could adversely affect the growth of important crops such as rice, wheat and corn.It also encourages the growth of weeds and pests as food crops would diminish leading to food shortages .It would also affect animals as they need cooler temperature to survive in order to migrate to mountainous or cooler areas or worst still extinction.

Climatic changes too have negative effects on human health such as mosquitoes occurs in high temperatures that could possibly multiply and spread leading to severe diseases such as dengue fever, malaria and yellow fever.

The play that we are watching

Filed under: Happenings — happyscribblers @ 11:44 am

Hello is me again, anyway about the play we watched on the last day is about the hard life of how some people live in and were abruptly disrupted by the the Bosnian war

Here are the details

Class Enemy (Asian Premiere)
East West Theater Company (Bosnia & Herzegovina)

“Passionate, shocking, awakening!” – Oslobodenje, Sarajevo.

Abandoned by their teachers, they wait, and they hope. Desperate and violent, they vandalise, they curse, they threat. While waiting, they start conducting their own lessons, telling dramatic, bleak and poignant stories about their own lives. They are underprivileged, but yet gifted, and they long to be recognised, acknowledged, confronted, and taught about life.

Nigel Williams’ play of the 80s is updated by Bosnian theatre director and film-maker Haris Pašović to present-day Sarajevo, a city still recovering from the Bosnian conflict of the 90s. Seven boys and girls conduct their own lessons as they wait for teachers who never arrive. Two funny guys Ma and Ca (Kitty and Cat) sing hip-hop songs – the only language in which they can express themselves. Pegla (Iron), the relentless bully whips up a frenzy. The dangerous beauty Kobra (Cobra) carefully manicures her nails and beat up the boys. The ever-unnoticeable Koka (Chick) turns into a revolt leader. The lovable classroom clown Klinjo (Kid) proves to be a racist. The rebel who breaks shop windows Nebo (Sky) transforms into an artist. In a final confrontation with the Deputy Headmistress, tragedy strikes. What seems in the beginning an ordinary day in a classroom turns into disaster.

Lord of the Flies meets Animal Farm in this production filled with pitch-perfect tension brilliantly captured by a young cast whose own childhood school days were abruptly disrupted by war. Based on research amongst disillusioned youths coping with dysfunctional families in post-war Bosnia, Pašović’s Class Enemy paints an unnerving dystopia, sounding a clarion call for change in a world where violence in schools and campuses increasingly vie for news headlines.

Performed in Bosnian with English surtitles.
Play includes Coarse Language and Violence
Restricted to Audiences 16 years and above only

The ticket cost $38, the play was very funny, and quite realistic. The problem  about the play is that we had  keep an  eye on subtitle and the people on the play .Each of them ,had an unique act. Is a very nice play i would recommend to watch .

oh yeah btw there is an event somewhere 20-22 june 8pm bedok reservoir anyone want to come?

ART camp

Filed under: Happenings — happyscribblers @ 8:04 am

Hi guys today i m going to share with you guys about the art camp, it was a 2 day 1 night experience. The first few activities wasn’t as good as i thought .

Firstly, the teacher will tried to grp us with 6 members in it by playing a game, the rules is when she said by month of our birthday, we have to find anyone who have the same month as our birthday. The problem is that some grp have more members than the others ,so we have to keep on with game. Anyway the second picture that i post, it about using our items and make a straight line, the longer the better, the faster the best and NO STRIPING . Thats what the teacher said!

This is my team members, we are making our flag as you can see.anyway went on with next event

This time the game is about guess the name of the song choosing one of your member to act while your other member guess . After the act, you still have to guess the artist name. The first grp was very funny when they act and guess the name of the song. However i do not have their photo, so sry , there are other grp too, were very funny but i can’t recall who. This is the most exciting and funny event.

the Good Riddance Day

Filed under: Happenings, World — happyscribblers @ 7:16 am

After switching channels after channels with the remote control, which is connected to the television. I stumbled across World News on Channel News Asia[CNA], which is one of my favourite channel.

The most news I was glued to till now, is the Good Riddance Day which occured last year at United States, Times Square Building. To ends the misery of 2007. People came to shred away all bad memories, bad stuffs or things that must be varnished away from their life for the following year onwards.

Article can be read at: http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/12/28/out-with-the-bad-in-a-times-square-shredder/

I think this is a very good idea to dump all their stuffs away by shredding it. To me by shredding or dumping those bad fears, memories or work-loads, helps me to clear some of those thoughts away. Even writing a diary is of no use.
